The Cost of Impropriety

Denmark Vesey, the self described "Blackest Man on the Internet", posted an adorable (yes, it hurts to say it but really it is) photograph of President and Mrs. Obama under the caption "Not Having A Woman is 80% of Being A Homosexual". Not sure I agree with that, but that's not the point. After DV was accused of having an obsession with gay men, he wrote the following response:

"I see the failure of cats like you to keep a sister, and raise a family as a form of genocide.

I see you punk niggas who haven't raised sons, expressing disdain and disgust at Hip Hop and young black men in general while demanding government intervention as ... faggots.

I see the last 30 years of social engineering that has resulted in a split between the genders as a type of warfare.

Margaret Sanger, her Planned Parenthood organization and the eugenecist Rockefeller Foundation published papers suggesting that one of the best ways to reduce the population was to encourage homosexuality.

Just as 80% of the abortion apparatus in this country is in black neighborhoods, and the very first Planned Parenthood abortion clinic was in Harlem - I believe they target their efforts of engineered homosexuality at black men.

My rallying cry to fight off this attempted genocide of our people, and to build strong black families is ... "Get A Chick".

Now, you can reduce that to "obsession with homosexuality" if you want.

Or you can spend that energy ... Gettin' You A Chick.

Your actions will speak louder than your words." (Source)

I couldn't write that without being accused of "castrating and tearing down the black man" so I was so happy that DV said it for me. However, I am equally as frustrated with women. We have to acknowledge our failures in order to correct them and change courses. DV's comment resonates with me because I am of the opinion that the cost of impropriety is too steep. The effects of impropriety are long lasting and can literally change the cultural fabric of a society. It certainly has changed the cultural fabric of the black family -- that's part of the reason that our children are dying in the streets at the hands of our children.

The rhetoric of the supposed "conscious" sect of black folks literally nauseates me. Not because I hate my blackness -- but because action speaks louder than words. You can call yourself socially "conscious" but as long as more black children are born out of wedlock than those who aren't; as long as more black children are raised in single parent homes than those who aren't; and as long as more mother's are raising sons than fathers-- we will not have equality that you dumb azzes expect the government to provide. If you are really a proud black woman then act like it -- love yourself more than the man who will not marry you and kick his monkey-azz to the curb! If she is really your "black queen" then put her best interest before your own and honor her! If you "conscious Kings and Queens" were really conscious you would be concerned that the black population in the United States is (if not shrinking) certainly not growing.

If you were a real revolutionary you would stop selling out your "people"(using this term loosely because you "conscious" Negroes don't really give a damn about anyone except yourselves) for a metaphorical 30 pieces of silver by supporting politicians who care more about the possible extinction of Seychelles sheath-tailed bats than your possible extinction. If you "conscious" men were real revolutionaries then you would head your households . Likewise, "conscious" women you would allow them to be the head of the household. If the black family were intact, then there would be no need to look to President Obama for hope. (Seriously, that whole phenomenon during the election with grown men and women overcome with emotion because we finally have the 1st black president still fascinates me -- what the hell was that? Actually I know -- BAMBOOZLED... again)

Update: I had an offline conversation with AttorneyMom and she applied this scripture to the times in which we live.

1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 6 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, 7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; 9 but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was. - 2 Timothy 3:17

(Yes, I feel strange about quoting scripture, since I wasn't in a very reverent place when I wrote this rant earlier. But God always chastens and I'm thankful...)

So wait a minute, all of this all because as a Christian you're opposed to homosexuality? No seriously, do you really believe that the pic above of two Black gay men as they are constitutes or is indicative of the fall of the Black family?

I'm just asking because, well...

QUESTION: How much stronger is the White Family than the Black Family and is homosexuality even a factor in said degeneration?

JMK said...

"as far as I'm concerned homosexuality is a non-issue as it pertains to the degeneration of the black family. Homosexuals have been a part of the equation since the beginning of time and will be here until the end of time. The problem pertains to family period --both black, white and everything in between. That problem is the redefinition of marriage." (Robin)

Great answer, CBW!

Homosexuality is NOT the cause, but its mainstreaming IS a symptom, just as is the left's defending the likes of pedophile Roman Polanski.

The misguided Left sees the French view that "prosecuting Polanski is an outrage because "Poalnski's contributions have been so much more valuable than his victim's," as "enlightened," instead of what it actually IS - absurdly vapid, disgustingly immoral and completely misanthropic.

Funny story, the SAME could be said of Ted Bundy and John Wayne Gacey!

Polanski plied a 13 y/o girl with drugs and alcohol and had sex with her AGAINST her will (his own testimonmy admits she yelled "No!")....that's pedophilia.

That too (the rationalizing of Polanski's vile act) is not the "cause," but yet another symptom of our modern moral decay.

Why is that even at all controversial?

Here is a piece that was on NPR this morning about how the church is changing, and how traditional values are being driven out of church as well.

I think this is something you can enjoy as a Christian, liberal or conservative...

I always said I'm a traditionalist, and this is what I mean by that... Please take a listen because it's not about politics, it's about preserving the church...

I didn't totally understand this post.

Isn't AIDS a large problem in the black community? Male homosexuality is a large factor in the spread of this disease, starting among men in prison and then spreading when they get out.

I don't have solid stats, but at least wanted to bring up the topic. AIDS is devastating to family structure when it is common in a particular community or group of people.

Zabeth said...

With regard to AIDS it isn't just spread through men in prison, but men who are on the down low- men who sleep with men but also have relationships with women.

RiPPa said...

@Zabeth: The down-low theory is false. It has actually long been a debunked myth. In truth, there is no statistical data to support this theory as collected by the CDC (Center for Disease Control).

@CBW: How exactly does the redefinition of marriage pose a threat or add to the decline of the family be they Black or White?

@RiPPa

What about the down low theory is false? It has been debunked by whom?

Are you denying the existence of bisexual men or men who are not upfront with women about their sexuality? And wouldn't their actions potentially lead to the continued spread of the virus?

Further, can you provide some links to statistical research you've referenced?

Thanks!

YES! The breakdown of the family is leading to the total, utter, and complete destruction of the so-called black 'community'. Plain. And. Simple.

Can we also refrain from calling fellow Black people "niggas," or "monkeys" even if some of them are reprobates or criminals. They may not deserve the title of "Brother," "Sister," "Papa," or "Mother," but just address them by their name or title. A lot, if not most, of the poor behavior in the community stems from a sense of low self-worth. Why make the problem worse by calling them everything the world does behind their backs or covertly on a daily basis. Replacing an "er" with "a" does not negate the history, purpose and origin of that vile word. Using it to address others just keeps people in mental bondage.

You aren't hearing what I'm saying either and you're putting words in my mouth. I didn't say that all BW are contracting HIV/AIDS from down low men, I said it was a contributing factor. Just like women choosing to have relationships with men who've been in prison as someone else mentioned. Do I believe that down low men exist? Yes, I do. Did I say that they are solely responsible to the rise is HIV/AIDS infections in the BC? Nope.

@Zabeth: Maybe you missed the part in my response where I said specifically that there is no statistical data collected by the CDC to support the DL theory.

The theory has long been debunked and the idea of it being a contributing factor as you expressed initially holds no merit.

But you don't have to take my word for it. What you can do is read the following links:

http://www.villagevoice.com/news/0432,coates,55837,6.html

http://www.slate.com/id/2108724/

But hey, if YOU can prove to me that there is a direct correlation between race, homosexuality and men on the DL, I'd welcome it. I say that because the theory in effect says that this is a problem with Black men and not men of any other race - especially non-minorities.

Are you up to the challenge?

Zabeth said...

@Rippa

“Maybe you missed the part in my response where I said specifically that there is no statistical data collected by the CDC to support the DL theory.”

Can you clarify what is meant by this as you interpret it? No statistical data can mean two different things. Is the inference that the CDC has not collected statistical data with regard to the “DL theory?” If that’s the case than that doesn’t necessarily mean that there isn’t a link, it just means that no statistical data has been collected. Or is the inference that the CDC has statistical data that proves that there isn’t a link?

Reading your links now. I’d also suggest checking out Terrance Dean’s book “Hiding In Hip Hop.”

I wonder what some Blacks were saying about Thuragood Marshall?

History has a funny way of repeating itself.

Wow CBW, I see that I really do need to visit your site more often! I respectfully agree with perhaps 60-70% of what I have witnessed in your blog thus far. I guess being more moderate right accounts for the remaining 30-40 percentile..lol. I'm not a complete fan of President Obama's politics but admittedly I voted for him because I thought that his presidency would translate to the masses of Black/Brown folk that have made excuses centered on victimization. If a man of color can become POTUS then that should be the line in the sand as far taking advantage of opportunities- irrespective of race and racism. Is it trickling don to the masses...I remain an optimist. Your view on the disintegration of the Black family and liberalism complicity in its demise...spot on. Keep up the good work and Keep the faith!
