Put Your Children Where Your Ideology Is Pres. Elect Obama

I don't know why I would be surprised by the fact that President elect Obama who is dead set against school vouchers is electing to send his children to the very private, very elite Sidwell Friends or Georgetown Visitation Schools in Washington DC. I'm guess his acolytes have no problem with this obvious hypocrisy -- because he is the great black hope. It absolutely boggles my mind why he would not be a proponent of school vouchers. I'm not outraged at the fact that he is sending his children to private school anyone is DC who can afford to do so should because the District of Columbia schools are among poorest performing schools in the nation. But why would he begrudge that opportunity to parents who love their children just as much as he does but simply can't afford Sidwell Friends? The Answer: Typical Liberal Hypocrisy.... It's a sin and a shame.

Pamela said...: No surprise to me that he would not support vouchers. I'm sure the teacher unions gave a whole lot of coins to his campaign.

I grew up in the DC area in a MD suburb. The schools were dreadful back in the 70s when I was a girl. My parents scraped to put me in a college prep school. I am forever grateful for their determination to do this. It may have been harder if I had siblings.

I think it is disgusting for parents to have to pay their taxes for dreadful schools. At least give them a chance to give their kids the best education possible. Kids are not property to experiment with. Every day they are in horrible schools is a day behind for those students. Most of them that do not support vouchers also do not really care for home schooling, which in more cases than not produce way smarter children that the public schools do.

If I had gotten married and had children you better believe monies for private or parochial schools would have been in our budget if at all possible.; November 14, 2008 at 9:01 PM

Conservative Black Woman said...: Anonymous, again you are so dumb!!!! I can help that you can't see the obvious hypocrisy. By the way, I am a lot of things but bitter is not one of them. I am blessed and highly favored of the lord, so blessed that I didn't have to send my child to DCPS with or without vouchers. But, I am not a hypocrite. If I were a public servant I would not deny others school choice yet send my kid to private school.

Also, in case you missed it on other posts I have marveled at the public display of affection that Obama displays toward his wife and children. I have almost moved to tears by Obamas acceptance speech at the DNC. I have no problem giving honor where honor is due.

With all due respect to this great I am not sure that he could have imagined the day where:

"Non-justice" is delivered by the hands of favorable officials with racial diversity that realize "Black on Black violence" is not seen as "violent" as other modalities
Where allowing "ignorance to prevail" is a favorable strategy for the retention of power by those who position themselves as saviors
Where "conspiracy theories" are effective tools to allow people to remain unified against an external threat - even when it has moved away and they are all by themselves - otherwise having to manage the human resources before them toward a more conscious end.
