What Obama Means By "Change"

On the Conserative Black Woman's Roundtable last night our discussion of the business of politics turned to Sen. Barack Obama (surprise, uh) and his political bend towards socialism and his obvious links to more than a few dubious individuals who could never be mistaken as patriots. After the show one of my friends accused me of buying in to speculation. I don't think so. Senator Obama's rhetoric is riddled with socialistic language. The problem with socialism is that while it sounds appealing on the surface, historically it has always lead to a diminishing of individual liberties. We have a right to get wealthy we are in america; we have a right to be poor if you don't want to do what it takes to be wealthy. Socialism leads to totalitarianism and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Here is a video montage which illustrates these points:

Wow. I listen to conservative radio and visit conservative blogs, so I’d heard him called a socialist/Marxist, but the video clip you posted was the 1st time I actually heard Obama himself telling of his plan to implement these ideals. I don’t understand how even ignorant/uneducated folks could think it makes sense for people who make money from stocks to have to pay more taxes so that some of their earned profits could be redistributed to those who didn’t do anything to earn them. I think we have enough “welfare” to go around. I think there are simple things that could be done to take the existing welfare dollars and make them help more. For example, give people less than 100% help and help out a larger portion of people. I’m in CA and have spoken to legislators about approving proposals to redistribute existing funds in this manner, but some people are simple happy seeing others stay poor and some poor people are too ignorant to see they are being kept down.

If he wants to end world poverty by using US workers earned funds, why not offer tax advantages to donating money? How can people sit around and think it makes sense to take our money to save the world? How does it make any sense that this adult man, Obama, actually believes that it is helpful to help those who will not help themselves? He has to know better than that.

But, to many of his supporters, there is almost nothing you can say about the man; they really have “faith” in Obama. It is unnerving/disturbing that people will not think for themselves and do research. It borders on being scary, but I will not be afraid, I have faith in God to see us through whatever happens next. But the people having blind hope/faith in this man with so many questionable policies is strange to say the least.

Watching that video gives me horrors. Particularly after having recently finished Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged.

And everyone is walking blindly over the precipice...

America's mainstream media (MSM) and BOTH major Parties...by putting up candidates that waged uninspired campaigns have also played a part in Obama's rise.

But ULTIMATELy it is US...the American people, who will make that decision.

If enough Americans are too lazy to realize that our current credit crisis was caused by OVER-REGULATION and toxic regulation by government, and NOT any "failure of the market," if enough Americans buy into Obama's empty rhetoric that parades a pernicious socialistic vision as "change we need," then he will be elected and we will suffer.

Hopefully that suffering will be short-termed, dooming Barack Obama to Jimmy Carter's fate and making "Liberalism" a dirty word for a new generation of Americans.

But it will be a VERY painful lesson, but then again, perhaps we NEED such a painful lesson.

I pray and I hope for the best, and I'll vote and continue to write such as I'm able...

I did not watch this video. I did not need to. All I needed was to hear one of his speeches at the end of a primary election. I think it was the Texas one. If not it was the same week as that primary. I remember the speech well. I was working at home that evening and had the radio and laptop on watching the election results. It was my first time listening to any of the candidates after a primary election. He mentioned two things that convinced me that he was a Marxist.

The first one was his health care plan. He stated that businesses would either have to provide private health insurance for their employees or they would have to pay into the government health care system. He did not give details about what he meant by providing it. However with prior statements he made about people not being able to afford health insurance I have to assume that it is highly possible that business would have to pay the entire cost. Many of us pay a portion of the costs. I was not sure but I definitely did not like the government mandate that every business would have to provide this. Many people will lose their jobs when businesses that cannot provide this shut down.

The second thing he mentioned was how he was going to create new green jobs. At this time the only jobs that the government creates are those jobs that run the government. When I heard this my first thought was that he was going to implement something like the New Deal where from what I read the government was the business. Either that or the government will control what businesses do. Basically the government will eventually tell the rest of us what we can and cannot consume. They will also eventually assign what work we can do. This was called reeducation (I believe) in China during the Cultural Revolution.

These two things were enough for me to not consider Obama as our president. He will present legislation that will take away our freedoms.

Whether or not "Joe the Plumber" is real, I did not like Sen. Obama's comment that his main goal is to re-distribute wealth. I am a lot more comfortable with those who believe that the purpose of taxation is to only provide enough revenue for government to do its job.

When I heard about Joe the plumber Obama's response confirmed what I heard during the primary speech a while back. We have prayer meetings for the government and the elections on Saturday mornings. One of the people there felt to pray for Joe because of the onslaught that has come after him. Make no mistake about it. This is a sign of our future if Obama and those like him end up being elected. Free speech will go out the window and legal dissent will be no more. Those that oppose them will be silenced and/or punished just for asking questions. People better watch how Joe is being attacked and really think about what will happen if Obama is elected. His Marxist tendencies are frightening to me. I came to this conclusion just from hearing one primary speech.
