Stimulating Persecution

I'm talking to Christians now...Wake Up! Luke 21:36 says "Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man."

Thanks for posting this CBW, the days are short the attacks on Christianity coupled with incidents like the current newsweek cover story, seem to suggest an acceleration of dark times coming.

DJ Black Adam said...

Attacks? Nero was an attack, what Perpetua and Augustine went through were attacks, what Paul, Peter, Mark and the rest of the early church went through was an attack. This? This is right wingers not knowing what true christian struggle is while they don't show a true Christ.

You prove the point my friend...words can be murderous. Perhaps we are not have not been mortally wounded but rest assured there is an all out assault upon our faith coming from the left as evidenced by there relentless attempts to silence us.

CBW, I will be the first to recognize that there is an attack against the faith coming from people like Bill Maher, Richard Dawkins, and the academic left. MY point is that this would be quite EASY to reverse, if and when the saints started DEMONSTRATING THE GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD, as opposed to operating in BEDROOM Christianity, trying to control who grown folk sleep with as opposed to SHOWING JESUS in their LIVES.

Yes DEMONSTRATING The GOSPEL Of the Kingdom as JESUS did, not just in His words but HIS LIFE.

The church will always have to deal with persecution, we have it much better than Christians in the Philippines or Saudi Arabia or even Egypt or Israel. BUT, instead of using that liberty to do the things JESUS DID (Preaching and Demonstrating the Gospel of the KINGDOM, showing the FRUIT of the Spirit), the RIGHT practices gangsta Christianity Taliban style.

So forgive me for not having patience when these right wing Christians whine.

Dear CBW,
Thank you for posting the National Prayer Ministries video. Christians do need to wake up!!

CBW, I know this is not related to the post but could you check out a video that is on YouTube? It was taken from Niel Cavuto's Your World on the Fox News Network. In the YouTube search box you can put
Mother of Cole Victim on Obama: I voted for him I think I made the wrong decision

It's hardly whining. As a Christian, I do not want to see laws that move in the direction of persecuting or discriminating against Christians (or any faith for that matter as this law does). It's not necessarily about what's going on now, but what direction we're moving in.

I'm not all freaked out about it, but as a citizen of the USA I certainly have a right to voice my opposition.

I can agree to a point about some "right wing" Christians and being obsessed with the sinful behavior of others rather than demonstrating the gospel. I actually wrote about it yesterday if you're interested http://judybright.livejournal.com/245067.html

I am going to have to disagree with you. Who demonstated the Gospel better than Christ himself and he was crucified. I am no expert on end-times prophecy but there is a school of theological thought that maintains that the time will come and God's people will be raptured and the rest will be left here on earth to their own device. I'm thinking that the left can't wait until such a time. As a Christians we are called to be salt and light. I don't have a problem with homosexual people and their lifestyle -- I know what the Bible says but that's between them and God to work out or not. But being "salty" I am duty-bound to uphold the santity of marriage by not supporting those who seek to change it's definition (I have no problem with civil-unions) I just find it rather perplexing that many on the left despise the things of God yet they want gay marriage -- well, marriage is a "God Thing" at least it's supposed to be. I am duty-bound to uphold the santity of life. Abortion terminates the life of an innocent human being. Yet, the left actively defends the lives of wolves and endangered species but fight tooth and nail to maintain the right to snuff out human life. Ironically, at the rate at which black women terminate their pregnancies we will be an endangered species. I believe the left is well aware of this and that they are counting on it -- its part of their strategy.

Do all Christians everywhere demonstrate the Fruits of the Spirit at all times-- of course not and that will never happen because we are human. But that doesn't change who we are in Christ Jesus and what our purpose on Earth for this time is -- to serve Him and do His will. Supporting the Godless agenda of the liberal elitist left isn't serving our Father its serving "man" and his "correct" politic.

JudyBright~ I read your post and I agree with you. That protest did nothing to advance the Kingdom of God. It just made Christians look like idiotic zealots.

How polluted do you think that water is the dude is praying over and how do you think it got polluted? Does he pray for a cleaner Earth? If he doesn't, how do you think it's going to get cleaned? See? I just put out a straw-man issue just as he is doing. "Let's not deal with all this economics thing-a-ma-jiggies, what about some second-hand interpretation of what will happen to Christianity under Obama?"

Neither is supporting the "Godless" agenda of the so-called "Christian Right", all they do is try to pimp Christians into supporting their wicked and selfish agendas with their "having a FROM of Godliness, Denying the POWER thereof". Might I suggest you find out what SIN Sodom and Gomorrah were judged for, it wasn't homosexuality as the RIGHT likes to forward as they try to control who gays sleep with, it WAS, as God told His Servant the Prophet Ezekiel: "Ezekiel 16.49 gives us the proper context in why Sodom was destroyed (from the New Revised Standard Version):

“This was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease, but did not aid the poor and needy.”

Think about THAT the next time you want to protect some bank CEO's salary and want to crack down on who is getting 10 dollars more a month of food stamps....

I am not nor was Mr. Lewis doing any such thing. You isolated one paragraph out of the New Marxism post and the argument that you present is completely out of context. If someone needs public assistance I wholeheartedly believe they should receive it. Actually, I have a real problem with the church and Christians who don't attend to the needs of the poor. I left my childhood church because they were more concerned with lining the church bank account than supporting community outreach ministries, and overseas missions. So while I understand your frustrations, all Christians are not getting it wrong and therefore all Christians should not be indicted.

BrotherKomrade~you write" See? I just put out a straw-man issue just as he is doing. "Let's not deal with all this economics thing-a-ma-jiggies, what about some second-hand interpretation of what will happen to Christianity under Obama?"

I am convinced that you are both intuitive and intelligent enough to know that "economic thing-a-ma-jiggies" and one's "second-hand interpretation of what will happen to Christianity under Obama" are not mutually exclusive. Christians are citizens too, we are affected by the economy too so it is also in our best interest that the economy improves. So, because my economic condition is precarious I shouldn't care that my rights as a christian citizen may very well be impaired?

The caveat which proceeded my this posting was...I'm talking to Christians. So, why is it problematic that Christians are encouraging each other? We are doing what we are supposed to do.

Oh yeah, DJ Black Adam you may be right that the "right" may be attempting to pimp christians. But some of us stand of the Word of God and not a political agenda. Politians do what politians do they coddle to the needs and concerns of their base. The left pimps black people but their is no mass exodus from the party...so it is with Christians like me.
