John Hawkins: Fifteen Reasons I'm Already Tired of The Obama Era

Mr. Hawkins list is listed below(You will find my two cents in red):

15) The stimulus bill is the single largest spending bill in the history of humankind and yet, Obama is running around telling everyone how he's going to cut the deficit in a few years. Obama claiming to be a deficit hawk -- that's like getting a lecture on honesty from Bill Clinton. (He is pissing on America's leg and telling us it's raining -- what's worse is that many American's believe him!)

14) ACORN, which engaged in large scale voter fraud during the 2008 election that won't be seriously investigated because Obama is in the White House, is now unapologetically breaking into houses across the country and encouraging squatters. Apparently, if you're a liberal group, you are above the law as long as the Obama administration is in the White House.

13) Despite the fact that America just conclusively proved it's not a racist nation by electing the first black President, race hustling bottom feeders like Al Sharpton and Julian Bond are making ridiculous charges of racism over an obviously non-racial cartoon. I thought the implicit promise of the Left was that electing Obama would put the race hustlers out of business? (Why, would he think that? Black folks are indoctrinated in our schools, churches, and family reunions to "never forget" so and we won't--unfortunately. I don't mean to diminish the struggle of our ancestors but we need to move forward at some point.)

12) Despite all the doomsday talk that we're hearing about how only European style socialism can save us from another depression, this recession isn't even close to being as bad as the one we endured in the early eighties. The utter lack of perspective about this topic is disturbing. (PSBO knows this but he is counting on the willful ignorance of his acolytes who will promulgate this propaganda)

11) Barack Obama has already broken more campaign promises in a month than George Bush did in eight years. He's a living, breathing example of everything people hate about politics. He's habitually dishonest, will say anything if it benefits him politically, and he has already doled out more taxpayer money to his supporters via the stimulus bill than any politician in history.

10) Many of the same moderate Republicans who helped destroy the party over the last 4 years by pushing big spending, big government, pro-illegal immigration policies, and worst of all, John McCain, are once again declaring that the solution to our problems is to pursue many of the same policies that allowed the Democrats to take almost total control of D.C. "Thanks, but no thanks" for the "helpful" advice. (That's because they are not fiscally conservative -- they should not be re-elected)

9) It's grotesque to see the worshipful treatment Obama is getting. It seems like his face is on the cover of half the magazines in the country, the press treats him with kid gloves, and they're naming schools after him. Meanwhile, he's just another sleazy politician who has yet to show an aptitude for much of anything other than reading off of a teleprompter. (Lawd knows this is the beautiful truth!!!)

8) In what is sure to be the first of many betrayals, Arlen Specter, Olympia Snowe, and Susan Collins sold the Republican Party and the American people down the river on the stimulus package. The amazing thing was not that they caved, since it has come to be expected from those three, but that they prostituted themselves to the Democrats so cheaply. Had they simply held out for another week or two, they could have given the GOP much more leverage, shaved at least another hundred billion off the stimulus package, and could have acquired tens of millions more in goodies for their constituents.

7) The Treasury Secretary, Tim Geithner, is a tax cheat. Let me repeat that: Timothy Geithner, the guy who is the head honcho of the IRS, is a tax cheat. One more time, Tim Geithner, the guy who will be in charge when the Obama administration institutes what will probably be the single largest tax increase in American history, later in Obama's first term, is a tax cheat. (I'll repeat it too...THE HEAD OF THE IRS TIM GEITHNER, PSBO'S APPOINTEE IS A TAX CHEAT)

6) Despite the fact that the Big 3 automakers have been so thoroughly destroyed by the unions that work for them that they have to come begging for billions per month just to survive, the Democratic Party is getting ready to try to ram a card check bill through the Senate that would expand the presence of unions all across the country. That's like finding a turd in the punch bowl and just tossing it into the lemonade. (lol, that was pretty funny)

5) The single most successful program of the Clinton years, welfare reform, has already been essentially repealed with no debate via the stimulus package. It's part of Obama's attempt to radically transform the country before the American people fully realize what's happening. So far, judging by the lack of discussion over welfare reform, it seems to be working. (Norman Thomas, A US Socialist Party Presidential candidate in the 1940's said this:"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism,....But under the name of ‘liberalism,’ they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day, America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”)

4) The very same government that destroyed the banking industry by forcing it to make loans to people who couldn't pay them back is now using the very crisis it created to try to nationalize the banking industry. This is like making an arsonist the new fire chief after he burned down the fire station and 3-4 city blocks surrounding it.

3) Barack Obama is like Jimmy Carter on speed. In anticipation of the American people vomiting at the mere mention of his name in the future, he's trying to cram every single thing on the liberal wish list through so fast that our legislators don't even have time to read the bills that they're voting on. (Not sure I agree completely, I think the liberals who control the indoctrination of children in the public schools will make sure that PSBO looks good throughout the annals of history)

2) We're literally going to spend hundreds of billions of dollars rewarding people for failing to pay their mortgages. Granted, they're not going to admit to that, but when people who pay their mortgages on time get nothing while people who aren't paying their mortgages get a break, courtesy of their fellow citizens' tax dollars, what else can it be called other than a reward for irresponsibility? (Well, Saul Alinsky -- de facto PSBO would call it mission accomplished! Alinsky's modis operandi included going for the jugular of the middle class)

1) Prior to the stimulus bill being passed, the Congressional Budget Office estimated that the recession we're in would be over by the 2nd half of 2009. In other words, we're going to spend 1.2 trillion dollars on a stimulus bill and best case scenario, it could pull us out of a recession 3-6 months early. Of course, it seems more likely that all the government interference and massive increases in debt could extend, rather than shorten the length of the recession. If we're not out of it by 2010, we know who deserves the blame. (This DJBA is why the "pinheads" on Fox are calling it "Obama's Recession")

YES, while the NY Post cartoon that maligned the WRITER of the "STIMULUS Bill" ("Who's gonna write the next one")...that would be CONGRESS, "ISN't racist", the "people outraged by it are (racists).

Good point UTS...I agree with that - while the cartoon ISN'T "racist", the people outraged by it, for the most part, are (racist, that is).

Seems like you're coming around.

You're alright pal, no matter what they say about you.

That's a GREAT article.

Income tax RATE cuts and Capital Gains RATE cuts DO increase tax revenues....Reagan's across the board 25% income tax rate cuts saw government income tax revenues soar FROM $619 BILLION in 1981 to over $1 TRILLION by 1985!

The tax credits in this current "stimulus Bill" won't do that.

Moreover, the Keynesian idea that "stimulating demand" via things like increasing the EITC and temporary tax credits doesn't work, as it ignores the SUPPLY side of things - you have to spur INVESTMENT (risk) to get that!

All that, coupled with the high-end tax RATE hikes, will LOWER tax revenues and INCREASE the BOTH the Budget Deficit AND the National Debt.

As an aside, "But in the minds of fools like Hawkins (I pray he's not black)..." your sick obsession with race mirrors that of any Klansman or NOI member.

You don't even seem to see your own deeply ingrained racial bigotry.

Utterly ridicules. If anything this recession (depression) should be called the Reagan, Bush, Clinton (gingrich), Bush II recession.

Why you right wingers can't accept that this all starts with Reagan derugulation and trick down supply side economics is...simply amazing.

Yep, you gotta love the little pinheads logic."

Actually, I think the cartoon was vile and stupid. It doesn't really matter to me if the person who drew it is racist or not. IT'S A CARTOON-- and I'm not a Chimp, monkey, simien, or lower primate. SO WHO CARES. It seems to me you care if you view yourself that way. I learned in grade school that you can't stop folks from talking about you, or calling you names. You darn sure can't control what they think about you. So if anyone hates me because I'm black--SO WHAT!I have more important things to get angry about.... Like Christians who love (well act as if) OBAMA more that Jesus - now that's infuriating. That's what I choose to yell, scream, cry, stamp my feet, convulse, spit and blog about -- because at least God's people at some point will have an ear to hear, will search their hearts and repent. You angry, "never forgetting" BQSPFRC are going find racism in anyone who doesn't lick your boots....so, carry on.... (But, I won't give up on you UTS I don't care how many antebellum south slurs you call me)

You generally seem like a reasonable guy DJBA, but this is an irrational and unreasonable assertion.

Here's why;

In January of 1981 Ronald Reagan inherited a far worse economy than the one we have now...he actually inherited the implosion of Keynesian policies ("government social spending can be GOOD for the economy").

When Reagan took office the Misery Index (the unemployment rate + the inflation rate) was at a post-WW II HIGH (22) with BOTH unemployment and inflation OVER 10% and a prime lending rate at 23.5%!

By comparison, in January 2009, the Misery Index stood at 9.6 (completing 16 straight years of single-digit Misery Indexes, largely due to the Supply Side policies of Reagan and Clinton, BOTH Bush's are Keynesian Republicans, as Nixon was), the unemployment rate stood at 7.4 for 2008, the inflation rate for the year stood at 2.2% and the prime lending rate stood at 4%.

No comparing the two economies...the one Reagan inherited was in far worse shape.

When Reagan came in and ushered in the "Supply Side revolution" the Misery Index went down EVERY year until it reached SINGLE DIGITS in 1985 , where it stayed the remainder of Reagan's tenure.

Bush Sr. (who'd derided Reagan's policies as "Voodoo economics") cooperated with Ted Kennedy in returning to a modest Keynesian path, with disastrous results - four straight years of DOUBLE DIGIT Misery Indexes!

Yes, Bush Sr.'s average annual Misery Index of 10.2 paled by comparison to Carter's disastrous record 16.8 average annual Misery Index.

But we returned to Supply Side policies when Clinton came into office - pushing and getting NAFTA passed by a Democratic Congress in January of 1994...and in earnest once the Gingrich Cogress came in and set the agenda - slashing the federal budget (shutting down the federal gov't to get that done, against Clinton's wishes), cutting the Capital Gains RATE from 30% to 20% and introducing workfare and welfare reform....the RESULT?

The economic boom of the late 1990s and some of the lowest Misery Indexes in FOUR DECADES...PLUS all those budget SURPLUSES.

G W Bush cut the Cap Gains rate to 15% and cut income tax RATES across-the-board and those revenues soared!

Unfortunately for him...and US, the rest of Bush-Jr.'s agenda was Nixonian/Carter styled Keynesian.

So what we have here, today, is very similar to what we had back in 1976 - another Democratic President (Obama as Carter) inheriting a worsening economy from a Keynesian Republican (Bush-Jr. as Nixon)...the question is, will MORE Keynesian policies reap the same results they did back in the late 1970s under Jimmy Carter, OR, will the economy continue to worsen and will Obama have to face a second "Gingrich revolution" in 2010 and take a more Clintonian (Supply Side) approach and leave office a more a far more beloved and far less besmirched President than Bill Clinton is.

In EVERY instance over the past three decades, Keynesianism has failed disastrously and Supply Side policies have worked astoundingly well.

“The current economic crisis is the worse since the Depression.” (UTS)

Uh oh...I see another lesson here.

Just like DEBT and DEFICIT are NOT at all synonymous, neither is the ECONOMY and an economic crisis.

Yes, the current global credit freeze, which started here, when the federal government loosened lending requirements, signed onto its GSEs backing/buying 0% down and later subprime mortgages, increasing the GSE’s share of the mortgage market from about 1/3 to about ½, including a tremendous amount of the newer high-risk debt, setting loose a self-cannibalizing feeding frenzy once the private sector was no longer “putting their own money at risk”...turns out they were putting taxpayer monies at risk, IS a frightening economic crisis, probably as bad as anything since the 1893 Silver Panic, which also followed a period of great economic expansion (like we’ve had over the past 16 years) except that the preferred industry, back then, was railroads. Railroads became vastly over-built, and many companies tried to take over others, seriously endangering their own stability in doing so. In addition, many mines were opened (many of them with railroad connections), and their products, especially silver, began to flood the market. One of the first signs of trouble was the bankruptcy of the Philadelphia and Reading Railroad, which had greatly over-extended itself That bank failure occurred on February 23, 1893.

A series of bank failures followed, and the Northern Pacific, the Union Pacific and the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroads ALL failed. These failures were followed by the bankruptcy of many other companies; in total over 15,000 companies and 500 banks failed (many in the west). According to most estimates, almost 20% of the nation’s workforce was unemployed at the Panic's peak. The huge spike in unemployment, combined with the loss of life savings by failed banks, meant that a once secure middle class could not meet their mortgage obligations. As a result, many walked away from recently built homes. From this, the sight of the vacant Victorian (haunted) house entered the American mindset.

That is the kind of systemic economic crisis we face today, except our current one is a crisis brought on by a combination of ill-conceived government action and widespread reckless and irresponsible lending by banks, brokerages and private equity firms.

The ECONOMY is the state of the economy at any given time.

As I noted, the economy that Jimmy Carter handed off to Ronald Reagan had a record high Misery Index of 22, double digit unemployment and inflation rates and a prime lending rate at an eye-popping 23.5%!

Those numbers DWARF those of today – 2008’s Misery Index is 9.6, the unemployment rate for 2008 was 7.4 and the inflation rate stood at 2.2% our current Misery is LESS than HALF that which Carter left behind! And today’s prime lending rate (4%) is far lower (and better) than the staggering 23.5% Carter left behind.

Bottom-line, Barack Obama is in office now, just as Reagan was in 1981. Reagan’s policies turned things around immediately. The Misery Index went down EVERY year until it reached SINGLE DIGITS in 1985, where it stayed throughout the rest of Reagan’s tenure.

That SHOULD be the standard the current occupant is held to...and you know what? As skeptical as I am about the efficacy of Keynesian policies (they ARE, primarily, what got us into this mess), I’m rooting for the Obama administration.

OK, so what did we learn this time?

Just as DEBT and DEFICIT are completely distinct and different terms, so are “economic crisis” (ie. the Tech Bubble Bust of 2000, the S&L Crisis of the mid-1980s and the current global credit crisis) and “the economy.”

Hey Obama! The campaign is over! As you've told us, you won!

You can stop campaigning now!

I started to watch his speech in the Congress last night, but then our little man needed to go to bed. But the commentators where saying people are getting burned out on Obama, because he continues to campaign, create opportunities to be on television and of course, the mainstream media zooms in on him.

Burnout, indeed.

Not only that, but this so called stimulus money comes with strings attached.

I hope most states turn it down.

We need to stop looking to Washington D.C. as if it were some sort of Mecca, and start looking to God and within ourselves to overcome this economic adversity.

Looks like the white racists love your blog.

You don't even find that strange, do you?"

It is not a mandate (at least not yet) that everyone love Barack Obama. Nor is it an act of racism or self-loathing to dislike him. While I don't find a single physical attribute of PSBO ugly (he is fine as hell)I am sick of looking at him too. While I can't prove it, I'm also inclined to believe he is a fraud as well.

But why do you BLACK PEOPLE hate him and he's only been in office for 26 days??

What is it about his visage that offends you so much?

Deny it all you like but this smells like self-loathing.

"I'm done trying to prove and qualify my blackness to people like you."

But you'll never tire of proving your undying love and loyalty to massa though, will you?

Sad.

This BLACK PERSON had serious reservations about before he got elected so 26 days is irrelevent. I'm sure he is a nice man and I don't hate him (as I have said 15 trillion times) I think he is a radical leftist egomanical socialist. I have read two of his books and for him to call himself a christian is laughable. Not that being a christian is a requirement for the job of POTUS but he is blatantly lying. I'm not saying he is a muslim either. I do believe him when he says that he believes there are many ways to God so I think he is up for anything and that does not a Christian make. I believe he has a very real disdain for this country and I think it is dangerous for a person w/ the feeling that he has about the nation to be the leader of it. There is much more but I've already written about it and there is nothing more to say. But what I DO HATE is the idolatry that christian are bestowing on him. Just look at you getting your drawers all knotted up because someone says he is "ugly" and a fraud.

BTW, I think I spoke to soon about mandated "Obama Love" -- checkout http://obamaforum.com. I'm sure the O"ministration didn't set this up but this is the kind of grassroot effort he encourages.

No UTS Steve is more like this:

"Never underestimate the difficulty of changing false beliefs by facts."
-Henry Rosovsky

What's sad is how thick your head is when it comes to understanding BLACK PEOPLE who think differently than you do. So in your world, you either embrace any black person regardless of whether or not they offend you to the marrow of your bones or you are a sell out. So I could grab a microphone call your daughter dirty words, tell your sons to make money by any means necessary and I could grab a semi-automatic weapon and jack your car or I could sell your Mama crack cocaine and as long as I support Barack Obama I'm your girl....right?

Haven't ever done that either. But like I said, if you need to believe that about me, fine with me.

""But you'll never tire of proving your undying love and loyalty to massa though, will you?"

No, I won't -- but see my Master is the Lord Jesus Christ and I will use all the breath in my body to lift his name high. If that means I upset some people who happen to be black. Oh well....

"Open thy mouth
for the dumb in the cause of all
such as are appointed to destruction.
Open thy mouth,
judge righteously, and plead
the cause of the poor and needy .
Proverbs 31:8-9

There are whole bunch of people who are so spiritually needy and poor that they have believe that Barack Obama will provide something for them that only the Lord Jesus Christ can provide. For the BQSPFRC I would say that it's PEACE. They clearly have none -- inner peace that is.

I'm not the one getting excited but I see you you are about to go airborn.

"I believe he has a very real disdain for this country and I think it is dangerous for a person w/ the feeling that he has about the nation to be the leader of it."

WHAT???????? HOW????????

What has Obama done or said to make you think he hates America?

I'm just going to be straight up with you my sista, this is some really sick hsit you just said.

Especially being a black woman.

I could understand it coming from some white racist who is just reaching for an excuse to hate and oppose him but a black woman?

Please answer my question.

Well that's the thing CBW.

I don't think you believe half the stuff you say and right.

I believe 90% of you black conservative bloggers are just trying to draw attention to yourselves by going against the grain.

Contrarians.

Look at people like Michelle Malkin and Jessie Lee Peterson.

They take pride in being people of color who are even more extreme in their ant-black rhetoric than most white conservatives.

With their latent level of ability ,if they didn't perform their public minstrel shows, they'd be toiling at the local car wash.

Well UTS then that explains the "thickness" you can even fathom that black folks can think outside of YOUR paradigm. Who has the time, energy or inclination to lie about their very own ideology? That doesn't even make sense. Call attention to my self? For what? How is that profitable for me? Do you see any ad's on this blog? I've not written any books --yet. I have but one singular purpose for blogging --RANTING, RAVING AND BRAINSPEWING so that my daughter can look over these posts at some point (and my husband hates to talk about politics, race, and religion)

As for why I believe PSBO has serious disdain for America...For the same reason that I think you do. He is a Quasi-Black Quasi-Social Progress Fundamentalist Covert Racism Chaser. All of you left wing progressive types hate America. He said in his book and I quote:"“I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.” WE ARE AT WAR AGAINST JIHAD AND HE WILL SIDE WITH THEM.

So, I'm not feeling utterly safe with him at the helm.

Oh Je-suz, this is just absolute garbage.

No basis in fact or reality whatsoever.

Just mindless ranting.

I really gave you more credit than this.

Sadly, this is very much a the reality of what he said my friend... and it's problematic.

UTS, Cupcake ~We are at war against Islamo-facist MUSLIM Jihadist. Our Commander in Chief claims to be and American Christian -- why, praytell would he ever side with Muslims unless he believes like the rest of you progressive that the US is the imperialist I don't think the Jihadist walk around announcing that they hate all non-muslim people...in fact their plan is to infiltrate and attack us from within. The Qu’ran is a total religious law, which regulates the whole of political and social life and insists that the whole order of life be Islamic.
Islam has the universalism agenda to dominate the whole world. Again I ask you Cupcake, Why would PSBO side with Muslim?

I posted a video sometime back let me find it and I will give you the link.

BTW CBW this is Obama's actual quote from page 261 of his book "The Audacity of Hope".

"In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Palestinian Americans for example have a more urgent quality for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific reassurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."

HE WAS TALKING ABOUT AMERICANS.

Now as a Christian, were you just repeating something you read on some rightwing site or did you deliberately distort Obama's statement?

Distort? I think not. Sorry, I don't have the book with me at work so I paraphased. He is implying that the US is the problem, that he would protect "them" from America. That doesn't sound to me like he has the "warm and fuzzies" for the United States of America.

Anonymous said...

What he said was very clear.

There was a distinct anti-Arab sentiment in this country after 9/11 where Arab-AMERICANS were physically attacked, their property defaced or destroyed and these loyal Americans questioned whether the government they paid taxes to and whose laws they obeyed would protect them during this time of seige or would it cave in to political winds.

Obama made it clear that he was on the side of righteousness and so am I.

I thank God I'm not a conservative.

You don't believe that the internment of Japanese-Americans was a gross abomination?

Let me fill you in something my sista.

America didn't have the warm and fuzzies for your black behind prior to 1964.

ROFLMBAO~That's hilarious. PSBO and YOU are siding with righteousness....surely, you jest! PSBO, was pandering to them. But it paid off politically and finacially.

CMW says: "I have read two of his books and for him to call himself a christian is laughable."

tell us why. In the book, did he say he hates Jesus? has he fed Christians to the lions at Shea Stadium?

"I believe he has a very real disdain for this country and I think it is dangerous for a person w/ the feeling that he has about the nation to be the leader of it."

You say you BELIEVE this about him, where is your proof? What did he say? what did he do that implies that he has disdain for this country?

"BTW, I think I spoke to soon about mandated "Obama Love" -- checkout http://obamaforum.com. I'm sure the O"ministration didn't set this up but this is the kind of grassroot effort he encourages."

How does he encourage it?

LOL, at least you are consistent BK.

Yes, I believe he has real disdain for this country and I've already travelled this road today with UTS.

Regarding grassroots efforts and asking me to substantiate such a claim...RUKM? PSBO, is Saul Alinksy's best student, he was elected in large part because of the grass root efforts of his volunteers, its still going on. When I could stomach it, before I unsubscribed I was getting daily emails about how wonderful O is which encouraged me to have a parties to support him, and spread the word, yada, yada, yada...it's all very boring. PSBO, is the leader of this country so I'm stuck with him. I not going to bash him at least on this forum my targets are the Christian OBOTS that think his dookey doesn't stink...you know the "fresh baked cookies and lime skittle" sect.

CBW- keep up the good work. God is with you.

UTS- "You do know the meaning of "racism" right? The thought that there are differences in behavior, performance and intelligence between skin colors."

That's not racism. There are differences. Look at the NBA- isn't this proof of differences in performance of the races? Or are the players chosen based on race and not performance?

Identical and equal are often confused. Everybody's unique but everybody is equal also. Everybody's the equal of Obama. How can this be? Equal means 'has the same value' (under law, in eyes of God). No two people are the same but they are equal.

Racism is when you act on the belief that one race is less equal, has less value than another race. You can't help what you believe, that's why we have the First Amendment. But you (people in general) can control how you act.

UTS is operating on an emotional level. You can't have a rational conversation with someone calling you names and curse words. He's projecting his emotions outwards. You have to walk away and be prepared to protect yourself, your family and property. You never know what an irrational person might do. Their emotions are controlling them.

LOL!!!!!

I see why you wouldn't post your name next to this nonsense.

Hey, idiot at one time the NBA was 90% white and ethnic.

Did blacks suddenly develop superior basketball genes or was it when blacks were allowed in the lead and given an opportunity to exel more and more blacks took that avenue as a way up?

If blacks are naturally better basketblall players why are there more white Europeans in the NBA than white Americans or black Africans and Carribeans???

Do you realize how stupid you sound?

So I guess you are going to attempt to say that because there are more white surgeons than blacks it proves that white just have more innate surgical ability, huh?

"UTS is operating on an emotional level."

Puh-leeze.

You clowns cannot stand anyone who gets in your chest and exposes your lies and hate.

Quoting Matt Stone:

" I hate Rebuplicans but I hate f***ing liberals more!"

With Mr.Obama,it isn't the color of his skin but his ideology and his cronies I find quite troublesome.
I would have given an arm and a leg to have Ms.Rice in that office.
