Who are the Biggest School Bullies?

Teacher Unions spend union dues on politics to advance the agenda of the left. They have a monopoly on public education and they really don't give a rip about education. As with most left wing liberal operations the motive is cold hard cash. Listen to these teachers give you the real skinny on teacher unions:

The Truth about Teachers Unions from Union Facts on Vimeo.

BTW, Barack Obama has the fully support of teacher unions (I wonder why?) Ok, I'll break it down for you. They piped lots of cash into his campaign, so he owes these brutes. This translates into teachers in public schools who have no burning passion to educate but are just showing up for their good "guvment" jobs. Barack Obama knows that public schools have their hands tied and must hold on to bad teachers. Inner city school children are assigned to governments schools like chattel while the children of the liberal elite are sent to private schools which wouldn't be problematic if these hypocritical libs were not blocking school vouchers for the parents of inner city children. They are willing to spread the wealth but not willing to spread the "quality education". Wake up black people liberal democrats are not your advocate. They want to keep you and your children dumb and dependent and this agenda is at play on every level and facet of public policy.

I've heard it said that the teachers unions are THE biggest threat to this country...even bigger than terrorism. Terrorists target a building or a city...teachers unions are ruining the WHOLE country, one generation after another.

Support school vouchers!

Maybe all is well, if results don't count.

As Christopher Dodd recently said "In the minds of the people...", which is the whole point. It isn't about the rule of law, what is best, examining results, making appropriate course correction, and it's certainly not about education. It's about popular perception or "in the minds of the people" so as to disregard the actual outcome. The only outcome that gets a rise out of the "left" is the social agenda. The "minds" of the students shouldn't be filled with things like actual education.

If 'they' truly cared about education they would be squawking continually on the dismal results rather then showing that their greatest concern is always the social stuff. That's like saying, children should know more about use of condoms regardless of how ignorant they are.

We should be quite tired of this 'messing with our minds' strategy, and the guilt trips of not going along with it.

Mr. Akindele Akinyemi often has interesting things to say on the education issue, here:

You'll need your seat-belt and a helmet as he tends to be out spoken.

He hasn't lost his 'mind', so that's refreshing.

Thanks for the link Maid. I will start following his blog. I love his idea about Civics education. Boy, is that ever needed.

Did anyone see Time Magazine last week? They did a focus on educational reform in DC.

Thanks for the post, CBW. It was a great time for me to read it, as I was just speaking with my DH this evening about teaching just being a "job" and how that affects kids.

It is true that public schools are horrific examples of an education system that is run by liberal idiots(a teacher is not permitted to control her classroom or call a child down for misbehavior as it might "embarrass" or "damage" the child) but EVERYONE has a choice if there are any private schools in the area-you can readujust your budget OR you can talk to the school and usually, especially Catholic and other religious schools, will work with you, if you work with them. Another way to exact change in a school system is to become ACTIVE in the school. Here, the schools are horrific-but parents are not interested or involved, and it shows in how children act, and how they are not being educated. The only way we are ever going to see any change in anything that is wrong with this country is if we DEMAND better and start getting involved.
