Quote of The Week

"Facts don't matter much politically if they are not reported.
The media alone are not alone in keeping the facts from the public. Republicans, for reasons unknown, don't seem to know what it is to counter-attack. They deserve to lose.
But the country does not deserve to be put in the hands of a glib and cocky know-it-all, who has accomplished absolutely nothing beyond the advancement of his own career with rhetoric, and who has for years allied himself with a succession of people who have openly expressed their hatred of America. Dr. Sowell has been a truly great American for decades!

He's right that the GOP's "inability to counter-punch" deservedly dooms them to lose...but there are so many people who are going to suffer because of this.

Well, people ultimately get the government they deserve and with so many Americans so woefully uninformed...maybe we DO deserve this.

Those not awake yet, will sure wake up when their Municipalities lay them off (a beaten down private sector means fewer revenues for the public sector) and when their pension funds implode.

Are you referring to the American people and the Republican President George W. Bush?

Do we need a repetition of this fiasco?
Or are you folks in such denial that you are not able to think properly?

I think no I am certain that there is information that the "american people" are not getting because they rely on main stream media for information and therein lies the problem.

I think that the facts are obtainable and unless the "american people" are proactive about getting those facts we run the risk of the next 4years behind worst than the last 8.

Ultimately, listening to a politician spew rhetoric of hope and change is pretty pathetic. We are adults and our future is worth the time it take to get informed.

So I must now ask you.. Are "you people" too emotional, angry, bitter, or vitriolic to "think properly".

Angry, bitter? Not at all. I will always welcome change. If God who never changes can accept it(change) within his Creation, then we better get used to it.
The only angry people here are the Republicans who have been lying to the American people and to their chagrin, many are waking up.

I have spoken to some Blacks and Latinos who had voted for Bush based on principles of conservatism. They told me that this time they will not be bamboozled with the hype that the Republican Party represents their views.
Hey, I am a true conservative who will not vote for the Mccain Palin ticket because they do not represent me.
McCain in the White House will certainly be four more years of Bush indecisiveness and lack of leadership.

Marisol~ The point is because some black republicans myself included are not drinking the Barack Obama "kool-aid" does not mean that we are in denial. Nor does it necessarily mean that we are completely happy with Mccain.

We have simply come to a different conclusion in that we don't believe based on facts which we have researched that McCain is the lessor of two evils(just a figure of speech not saying that either senator is evil)
