PSBO's actions today have me a bit perplexed. He holds a Townhall meeting in France which is just wacky on so many levels. Is he pandering to the Europeans? If so, why? Is he just a narcissist? But then to add insult to injury he tells Europe that America fails to appreciate them and that America is arrogant, dismissive and derisive. Aren't we lucky to have such a patriotic potus? Charles Krauthammer responds:

And the problem with his comment?
Uhmmmm I'm with Brother Komrade, The Bush administration was VERY dismissive of Europe, and VERY Arrogant, and hell, I am for unilaterilism but Bush nem to that WWWWAAYYYYY to far.
If PSBO had called Europeans "Arrogant, Dismissive & Derisive" he'd be right. Work with Europeans some time. In an environment where you can't touch them, their true colors show up nice and bright.
I wonder if people will be more upset with the Dixie Chicks for what they did or for Obama for what he did.
I certainly didn't sign on to his collective apology. Please forgive us for not falling all over ourselves to gain Europe's approval for everything we do. What other continent full of countries do we have to beg for approval? Africa, Asia? South America? Fiji?
I rather enjoyed whatever his name is' comments. Ha Ha.
So thankful my ancestors left there long ago.
Go America! Yay!
Karauthammer's opening remarks are right on the money. America would not be so dismissive of Europe, if Europe wasn't so dismissive of itself.
For the last half century they have collectively decided to wallow in the false comforts of the Nanny State. There is just no waking them up, so why bother?
Look, I'd be the first to point out the snobbish and sometimes ungrateful attitude of the Europeans, and in particular the French, BUT I also have to admit, that the CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN Administration of GW Bush went WAAYYYY Overboard in their dismissive attitude to our Western Allies.
But of course, you righties, just like lefties, cannot or will not self examine.
Now, let me explain.
This post was not about our ole' buddy, George W Bush. I understand that Obama was referencing him while in Europe when he called the USA dismissive and arrogant.
A new administration should not go to a foreign country and "air our dirty laundry" so to speak. Some Americans think Bush was arrogant with Europe, some think he was just fine. I don't see leaders from other countries coming here to apologize for the behavior of previous regimes, and I think it's ridiculous that our President would do the same over there.
@Judy:
"A new administration should not go to a foreign country and "air our dirty laundry" so to speak."
Uhmmm. I think the last 8 years did more than air it, it flew the dirty laundry up a flag pole and expected us to salute it...
You're not my 'bro', Devon. Keep your well-wishes to yourself.
@DJBA
Did you intentionally miss my point? What are you talking about other than you don't like Bush?
